We are recruiting for a high-calibre experienced Legal Litigation Secretary to join our client’s Litigation practice within a leading law firm here in Cayman!
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our growing Litigation team where the successful candidate will not only provide professional secretarial support services but be responsible for the development of new document management and Knowledge systems to aid the practice.
 
The role is perfect for a candidate who has a number of years of experience with an established law firm in Cayman in a busy litigation department and who is looking for a new challenge. The role will suit a driven and dynamic self-starter whose abilities will be recognized and rewarded by the firm. 
 
Responsibilities:
•    Deliver high-quality work quickly and efficiently.
•    Develop and maintain document management systems, including creating and updating files.
•    Prepare booklets for court, counsel, and experts to a high standard.
•    Draft and manage client bills, including capturing expenses and liaising with third parties (e.g., counsel, expert witnesses) for invoices.
•    Use advanced Microsoft Word 365 to draft and revise documents.
•    Communicate professionally with lawyers, clients, and third parties, addressing issues and offering solutions.
•    Organize colleagues’ diaries as needed.
•    Adhere to firm policies, risk management procedures, and ensure timely file reviews and closures.
•    Perform additional tasks as required.
 
Requirements:
•    Recognized secretarial course and strong typing skills (minimum 65 wpm).
•    At least 3 years of legal secretarial experience in commercial litigation with a reputable firm, including experience with the Grand Court Financial Services Division.
•    Familiarity with the Grand Court online filing portal and preparing bundles to a high standard.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•    Professional demeanor with strong communication and organizational skills.
•    Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent attention to detail.
•    Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate flexibility for extra hours (paid) as needed.
•    Contribute to business objectives and collaborate with other teams.
