A well-established financial institution is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee daily financial operations across the business.

The successful candidate will manage core functions such as accounts payable and receivable, investment tracking, financial reporting, and reconciliations. This leadership role involves supervising a finance team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, while ensuring all financial activities adhere to IFRS, relevant regulatory frameworks, and internal policies.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for producing and analyzing financial reports, supporting the budgeting and strategic planning processes, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring the accuracy of data from core banking systems.

Requirements:

  • CPA or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management level finance or accounting position.
  • Experience within banking and/or Big 4 audit firms will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budget, risk management, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations; automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

We’re partnered with a highly reputable financial institution to assist in their search for a skilled Financial Controller to lead the business’ financial reporting and operations.

The Financial Controller will oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and cash management, while managing month-end close processes and key regulatory filings. In this role, the successful incumbent will manage budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives while mitigating financial risks. By analyzing financial performance, the Financial Controller will identify opportunities for improvement and prepare reports for key stakeholders, including the board and shareholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant – CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights to senior management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
