Senior Compliance Specialist, Corporate Governance

We’re partnered with a global financial institution to assist in their search for a Senior Compliance Specialist (“SCS”) to oversee internal governance practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the board and executive management in fulfilling their fiduciary duties.
The successful incumbent will play a key role in maintaining the company’s corporate governance framework, processing changes to company leadership, and coordinating board meetings, including agenda preparation and documentation.
In the area of risk management and compliance, the SCS will be responsible for identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks associated with corporate governance while ensuring alignment with best practices. This role involves preparing reports for senior management, supporting regulatory research and policy development, and ensuring adherence to Cayman’s anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations.
Requirements:
- University Degree, plus a legal or ICSA qualification or otherwise, have 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in minute taking with the ability to independently draft minutes and resolutions within limited timeframes.
- Understanding of Corporate Governance and have knowledge of relevant local regulations and best practices.
- Experience in managing all facets of a chartered secretary/board support role including but not limited to attendance at meetings, minute taking, liaison with Directors, Clients and third parties, transcribing and summarizing data.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task in a time critical environment.
- Able to work independently but also as a cooperative member of a team.
